Darin Freitag / Principal

Darin will tell you his career in construction is deeply satisfying because he gets to motivate and inspire teams and stakeholders to deliver tangible results that everyone can be proud of.

After years of experience managing cross-functional teams for big brands in merchandising and digital media, Darin transitioned to a career in the trades as an apprentice to two sole-proprietor general contractors, each with extensive artist/craftsman backgrounds. Under their mentorship, Darin embraced the detailed and disciplined approach essential to delivering high-quality projects. Darin went on to become a trained estimator, and then the manager of Small Projects and Service at a top Bay Area custom home builder before partnering with Eric to form Arrow Builders.

Today, Darin loves being part of the building community. He enjoys being a resource to friends, colleagues, and homeowners to help reduce the mystery and stress often associated with the construction process. When not at a jobsite, Darin likes to spend time outdoors doing anything related to fly-fishing, backpacking, camping, skiing, and soccer. He lives in Marin with his wife Lisa and son Oscar.

Darin earned a BS degree in Sociology from Cal (Go Bears!) and an MBA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (formerly the Monterey Institute of International Studies). He currently holds a Class B General Contractors license.

Eric Friedman / Principal

Eric Friedman draws upon a lifetime of experience in custom home building. Growing up as the son of a general contractor in San Francisco, Eric has always felt a special connection to the character and history of the city—especially to her buildings and their potential to shape experience and express the values of those who are fortunate enough to inhabit them.

Prior to co-founding Arrow, Eric spent nearly twenty years working at the venerable construction company Ryan Associates. During his time there, he developed countless enduring relationships within the subcontractor and design communities, as well as the necessary experience and humility to lead teams of construction professionals in the service of his projects.

When not working on client projects, Eric obsessively remodels his Haight Ashbury Victorian, which he believes makes him more empathetic to his clientele. He enjoys cooking, walking the dogs and binge-watching TV with his spouse Amy.

Eric holds a Class B General Contractor License.
